Community Relations
At Greater Nevada Credit Union, we believe in doing the right things for the right reasons, which is why our community involvement includes donations, sponsorships, fundraising, and employee volunteerism. We're proud to say that through our Employee Volunteer Program, 98% of our employees volunteer with non-profit and charitable organizations throughout northern Nevada.
In addition to participating in our Employee Volunteer Program, Greater Nevada employees teach financial literacy classes at local schools and community organizations. Class topics include: the basics of banking, balancing a checkbook, the importance of saving, credit and how to protect your credit rating, how to create a budget, and many more.
Greater Nevada also gives back through our Carson High School Educational Branch. The branch is designed to give students the opportunity to gain real-life work experience, earn class credit, and learn about managing money. The branch is open during the school year from 8:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Monday through Friday and is available to all Greater Nevada members for conducting transactions, opening new accounts, applying for loans or obtaining financial information.
Greater Nevada's major sponsorships include:

Carson High Educational Branch
The Carson High School educational branch, a 250-square-foot branch located inside the high school, opened in 1996. It is designed to give students the opportunity to receive "real world" job experience, earn class credit, and learn about managing money.
The students who work inside the educational branch first participate in a banking class and undergo two weeks of training at Greater Nevada. Many of the students who have worked at the educational branch have gone on to careers at Greater Nevada Credit Union and other financial institutions in Northern Nevada.
The branch is open during the school year from 8:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Monday through Friday and is available to all Greater Nevada members for conducting transactions, opening new accounts, applying for loans, or obtaining financial information.
