GNCU’s Board of Directors is comprised of seven members who volunteer their time and experience to oversee the management of your credit union. Directors are elected to serve three-year terms, which expire on a rotating basis. This year we have two Director positions open, and Greater Nevada is pleased to announce the three candidates who are seeking to fill those seats:

Travis Lee

Travis Lee (Incumbent)

Member: 10 years

Residence: Minden, NV

Occupation: Testing and Training & Release Manager, Project Management Office with Division of Welfare and Supportive Services, State of Nevada

Education: University of Nevada, Reno; Masters in Educational Leadership in Higher Administration

Statement: Over the past three years, I served as a GNCU Director, Treasurer and Investment Committee Chair. I also served on the Committee of Managers for Greater Nevada Mortgage. Each of these diverse experiences have allowed me, as a fifth generation Nevadan, to see and experience how GNCU truly supports each member to “Live Greater!” I am committed to providing leadership and direction as we address the task of moving Greater Nevada continually forward using mobile technology solutions during these dynamic times.  The improved experience will produce greater efficiencies, improved member benefits and community support throughout Nevada. I appreciate your support.

Jon Steele

Jon Steele (Incumbent)

Residence: Reno, NV

Occupation: Managing Member of Steele & Associates, LLC

Education: California State University, Fresno; Bachelor of Science, Business Administration, Accounting

Statement: So much has changed in the last year, let alone the last three since I was re-elected. GNCU has seen tremendous growth during this time and has become a larger part of our community. The programs that have been put in place during this time have enabled GNCU to be at the forefront of helping communities during the stressful 2020 shutdowns. I have been proud to be a part of this great team and hope you will keep me on the Board for another three years.

Maxine Nietz

I have served as a board member/president/chair of many of them, including WNC and Nevada Business Connections. I have owned and operated two businesses in Carson City and currently serve as the chair of a Nevada non-profit.  I believe my experience working with manufacturing, business, government, non-profits, and the community will benefit GNCU.
