To learn more and watch the online tutorials for eBranch and ePay, visit gncu.org and click on eBranch and Bill Pay Tutorial.
Once you’ve enrolled in eBranch, download GNCU’s free mobile app from Google PlayTM or the Apple® App Store for accessing your accounts and doing your banking on the go. In the app, you can tap on Instant Balance at the top and see your account balance without having to log in. Or, log in using your eBranch credentials. For even more log in security, set up Mobile Touch ID to sign in to your account with fingerprint recognition (iPhone® X users can opt for facial recognition).
Once you’re logged in, you can conduct a variety of transactions, including depositing paper checks right from your phone (simply follow the brief instructions in the app), pay bills, transfer funds between financial institutions, and even send money to family and friends using Popmoney®.
Need to send someone money? It’s simple when you register for Popmoney at GNCU. Easily request or send* money, even if all you know is the recipient’s email or cell phone number! Simply log in to your eBranch online banking and select the “Payments” tab at the top. Click “Pay your bills” and then choose the “Popmoney” option from the left-hand navigation.
To learn more, take a quick video tour of Popmoney at gncu.org/popmoney to see how simple it is to use.

From the President
Happy to be a New Neighbor
This August, we opened the doors to our newest Greater Nevada Credit Union branch, located on North Virginia Street across from the University of Nevada, Reno campus. This new branch not only provides more access for GNCU members, it also serves the unique needs of neighboring students, faculty, staff, community members and businesses.
GNCU provided financing for construction of the building to a company founded by two University of Nevada, Reno alumni. We are also the proud first commercial tenants of this flagship project, which features mixed-use student housing with retail space.
The new full-service branch employs staff members who are current or past University students and familiar with the community they serve. In addition, the branch provides 24-hour access to a secure vestibule in which members can use a fee-free ATM and conduct their banking with a member service representative via video during extended business hours.
The branch is just one more step in furthering our commitment to the University. For years, GNCU has raised much-needed funds for the Wolf Pack Marching Band, supported Wolf Pack Athletics, and provided financial education, most recently as the sponsor of Nevada Money Mentors. To continue our support of higher education, we recently announced an initiative to provide private student lending to our members as an alternative to non-governmental student loans.
Wonderful things are happening in northern Nevada, and the University of Nevada, Reno is a big part of many of them. That’s why we’re excited about our new branch location and ever-growing partnership with the University.
Watch for more news about the branch and GNCU’s activities on and around campus, as well as the many other ways we continuously strive to help more people live greater.

Supporting Local Special Olympics Athletes
This summer GNCU volunteers were once again at Special Olympics of Northern Nevada (SONV) swimming, track and field, and softball regional events cheering on the athletes, organizing awards, and assisting with a variety of needs. In addition, a group of Special Olympics of Northern Nevada (SONV) athletes headed for the Special Olympics USA Games in Seattle, WA, and GNCU sponsored a special send-off event (shown above) at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. Up next is the annual Bowl for the Gold event in Reno.
Let’s Hear It for the Band!
GNCU kicked off our seventh year of partnership with the Wolf Pack Marching Band, and once again we’ll be helping raise funds at our branches and at Wolf Pack football home games. Our match of up to $15,000 in donations is used to help fund scholarships, instruments and travel for band students. You can stop by any GNCU branch or visit our booth at the games to make your donation, or visit unr.edu/band/give. Thanks to everyone who helps us support the Pride of the Sierra!
GNCU Also Supported These Summer Community Events:
- Advocates to End Domestic Violence (AEDV) “Taste of Downtown” in Carson City. This annual event helps raise funds and awareness for AEDV, while showcasing downtown businesses. GNCU also teaches financial education to AEDV program clients.
- Lunar Rocks and Meet a Meteorite program at the Carson City Library, one of only 75 libraries nationwide chosen to present this educational program that features actual meteorite samples and moon rocks collected by Apollo astronauts.
- Amplify Life’s annual Camp LotsaFun event for children with special needs, where kids also enjoyed the opportunity to participate in a game of baseball at Greater Nevada Field with Reno Aces players.
- Field Day at Roger Corbett Elementary School, with special appearances by the Reno 1868 FC mascot “Truckee”, as well as players Sam Gleadle and Cristo Michaelson.

MAKE DIGITAL SECURITY A TOP PRIORITY
At GNCU, your financial security is a top priority, and we employ the latest technology and processes for keeping your information safe. You can also follow these tips for added protection and peace of mind when using any digital services:
» KEEP PASSWORDS PRIVATE
Get creative when creating passwords for your accounts. Think up a phrase and use the first letter of each word as your password. Substitute numbers or special characters for select words or letters. For example, “I want to take my family on vacation!” could become “!W2TmFoV!”. No matter what you choose, never share your password with anyone.
» STAY SOCIAL MEDIA SAVVY
Sharing too much detail on social media can make it easier for an identity thief to gather personal information. Popular quizzes ask for this type of data. Skip it, and keep your information safe.
» WATCH FOR PHISHING EMAILS
Don’t click on links, open files or download programs if you can’t verify that emails and content are from a legitimate source. GNCU will never contact you for your personal or financial information. If you receive a suspicious call, email or text regarding your GNCU account, don’t respond or click on any links. Report it to firstname.lastname@example.org or call (800) 421-6674.
» BEWARE OF COPYCAT WEBSITES
Be on the lookout for websites that have misspellings or bad grammar in their addresses or those that start with http:// instead of “https://”, which is secured. Use a safe search tool when browsing, and don’t enter personal information on unverified sites.
» KEEP YOUR DEVICES SECURE
Install anti-virus and anti-malware software and enable your device’s firewall. Ensure that you have the latest updates and security patches for your operating system and other software programs. Enable password protection on mobile devices to prevent unauthorized access.
