Greater Nevada Credit Union’s members, employees, and other supporters unite each summer to collect and donate new school supplies to help local students start the new school year on the right foot. This collective effort highlights our passion for our kids’ educational success.
GNCU’s annual Greater School Supplies Drive is back for 2026! View the full list of items being collected between July 1-31 at all GNCU branches below.
Many students lack the necessary supplies to succeed in the classroom, and teachers often use personal funds to purchase them. According to AdoptAClassroom.org’s 2025 Teacher Spending Survey, teachers report spending an average of $895 of their own money on school supplies for their students and classroom in the 2024-25 school season.
Between July 1-31, you can drop off the following items in new condition at any GNCU branch to support students and teachers in your community by easing the cost of classroom essentials.
• Children’s books (new or gently used)
• Colored pencils
• Folders
• Glue sticks
• Hand-held calculators
• Highlighters
• Markers
• Notebooks
• Paintbrushes
• Paper (construction, lined, colored, etc.)
• Pencils
• Pens
• Post-it notes
• Rulers
• Scissors
• White board markers
The charitable organizations that will benefit from this year’s drive are Education Alliance of Washoe County, Northern Nevada Dream Center, and Communities in Schools Nevada.
