Greater Nevada Credit Union Helps Northern Nevada Families Start Saving Early Through Partnership With Renown Children’s Hospital
Every newborn at Renown Labor and Delivery receives a piggy bank and resources designed to help families start building healthy financial habits from day one.
Financial wellness starts with small steps, and sometimes those steps begin with a piggy bank.
Through its longstanding partnership with Renown Children’s Hospital, Greater Nevada Credit Union provides a piggy bank for every baby born at Renown Labor and Delivery. Each piggy bank is packaged with information about GNCU youth savings accounts and a special offer for families interested in opening an account for their child.
The program is designed to encourage conversations about saving early and help families begin thinking about their child’s financial future from the very beginning.
Before the piggy banks reach the hospital, GNCU employees come together to prepare them for delivery. Volunteers from across the organization help assemble and pack the boxes, creating a hands-on opportunity to support local families and celebrate Northern Nevada’s newest community members.
Once packed, the piggy banks are loaded into GNCU’s community outreach van, Livvy, and delivered to Renown Children’s Hospital, where they become part of the welcome home experience for growing families.
