Greater Nevada Credit Union School Supply Drive Helps Local Students Start The School Year Prepared
Donations collected across GNCU branches were distributed to community partners, helping students and families prepare for a successful school year.
As students headed back to the classroom this fall, local organizations across Nevada received an extra boost of support thanks to the generosity of Greater Nevada Credit Union members, employees, and community partners.
GNCU’s annual School Supply Drive brought in boxes of classroom essentials, including notebooks, pencils, crayons, folders, backpacks, and more. The donations were distributed to nonprofit partners serving students and families throughout the communities GNCU calls home.
This year’s donations supported the Education Alliance of Washoe County, Northern Nevada Dream Center, and Communities In Schools in Northeastern Nevada.
Supporting Students Across Nevada
Access to school supplies helps students feel prepared, confident, and ready to learn. Through partnerships with organizations that work directly with children and families, the donated supplies will reach students who can benefit most from additional support as the school year begins.
Each of the recipient organizations plays an important role in strengthening local communities. From providing educational resources and student support services to helping families overcome barriers to success, their work helps create opportunities for children throughout Nevada.
A Community Effort
The success of the School Supply Drive reflects the collective generosity of those who contributed supplies, promoted the drive, and helped coordinate collections and deliveries across GNCU’s service areas.
By working together with local nonprofit partners, GNCU is able to support students in communities throughout Northern Nevada and beyond, helping ensure more children start the school year with the tools they need to succeed.
